Game Intro - Flashback - Classic Commodore Amiga Game

Flashback Amiga Intro
Ahh good old Flashback on the Commodore Amiga.

Now this game really broke the mould with it's superb animation, immsersive atmosphere and superb in-game music.

Flashback - Commodore Amiga

The intro to this game really set the scene with airborne chases, plenty of shooting and an eventual crash into the alien jungle.

The intro led into the games first level seamlessly, and once you saw that animation and those lush backgrounds, you were hooked...

Flashback - a true classic Amiga Game:

Full Contact Intro
Now this one brings back memories!

Full Contact was an arcade game of the beat em up variety, released for the Commodore Amiga by Team 17 way back in 1991.

As the game loaded up we wer treated to a nice background tale before the programming credits spun into view. Things hotted up as we were given to a nice 'rolldown' of the famous Team 17 logo.

Then your jaw really did drop as you were treated to the fantastic opening music, a sun washed backdrop and a silhouette of a martial artist going through his paces.

I think the martial artist image was actually taken from the movie Kickboxer too - which makes it even cooler still. Make no mistake about it - this game intro was total class and got you right in the mood for some fighting arcade action.

Incidentally this is one of the few games that would not run on an Amiga 500+ (due to the problems with different versions of Kickstart)

Game Intro - First Samurai - Classic Commodore Amiga Game

First Samurai Game Intro
Ahh now this is one of my all time favourite games on the Commodore Amiga.

Cecco's arcade game was not only an excellent action platformer, it featured superb music, sound effects and of course, a brilliant game intro.

As the shadows behind the screen bowed to each other before being revealed as the student and master whilst the pumping game soundtrack kicked in, you just knew that quality was on the cards.

The First Samurai As the story unfolded, nicely drawn and detailled images of a battle to the death between the samurai master and evil wizard were displayed to you in a postcard style.

These images dissolved in and out of view as the story unfolded... which was a classic arcade game back story.

As the tale reached it's conclusion you knew the story, setting and aim of the game.

All in all, First Samurai was a brilliant arcade game that was blessed with a fantastic opening sequence.
